Dear visionaries,
Just a short note expressing my deep hope that you all had as blessed a Christmas as our household did. Nothing compares to it — worship on Christmas Eve, family gathered around a table in deep fellowship, prime rib and rich red wine, grand-kids delighted with their stick horses, and a glorious tree in the living room. But as rich as it is, our rejoicing and gift giving are nothing but a pale reflection of the gift God gave to us in the Incarnation of His Son Jesus Christ.
It has been two thousand years now, and all our calendars are about to turn over in silent commemoration of our Lord’s birth, anno Domini 2003. Common era, bah! Common era, humbug!
Cordially,
Douglas Wilson
“Apologetics in the Void” are repostings from an on-going electronic discussion and debate I had some time ago with members of our local community, whose names I have changed. The list serve is called Vision 20/20, and hence the name “visionaries.” Reading just these posts probably feels like listening to one half of a phone conversation, but I don’t feel at liberty to publish what others have written. But I have been editing these posts (lightly) with intelligibility in mind.
