1. Blech.
2. The first thing to get out of the way has to do with my punditry prowess. In a prior post I committed to returning my diploma to the East Toad Flats School of Punditry and Tire Center and, good to my word, I have done so. The bad news is that they are refusing to accept it, and are offering me their honorary doctorate instead.
This is the sort of thing that has happened to me enough times that we have had to come up with a name for it. What we decided on is to call it something like “being wrong.” There will be plenty to say around the edges of that later on, as I probably will do, but for now we can just call it wrong at the center. We should probably allow any of my chortling adversaries who so desire to capitalize it, as in Wrong.
3. As to my vote today, I was asked if I regretted not voting for Romney, and not plumping for him in this space. The quick answer to that is no, and I am sure I will have more to say about that later on. There are some important issues going on there, but I am really grateful that I didn’t cast my vote for Romney. In doing that, I was preparing for a Romney victory, and surprised by the Obama victory, but my no vote was preparation for either scenario. More on that later.
4. The last thing to mention is the reminder that Jesus is still Lord, and the truth is still the truth. A corollary of this is that math is still math, and blind folly is still blind folly. And salvation from blind folly is still true salvation. The gospel is still the gospel, and it is still powerful to save. And nothing is more evident than that it is gospel that we need.
