Living in the Glad Fear of God

Before Christ Church grew to the size it is now, when it came to Sunday morning, I was the chief cook and bottle washer. What I mean to say is that I conducted the entire liturgy, dong leading excepted (and back in the early days I did even that, only with a guitar). I would preach the sermon, officiate at the Lord’s Table, issue the call to worship and deliver the opening exhortation. A number of years ago, we put the Lord’s Supper meditations into a daily devotional entitled So Come, and Welcome, to Jesus Christ, a title borrowed from John Bunyan.. We have now made a daily devotional out of the opening exhortations entitled Living in the Glad Fear of God. And here it be.
