“Husbands lose their authority when they refuse to stand up to their wives or when they believe one path is correct, but instead go with what their wife says.”
Uh oh. He was okay until he said this. Now I feel the wrath a comin’!
I find that piece “A word to a husbands from a Puritan,” quite charming. The problem being, in the world there are some total lunkheads who need to be shoved of the edge of the planet as far as I am concerned, and those men do nothing but wallow in their own sin while forever lamenting about rebellious and unsubmissive wives. However, there are also some good the men in the world, totally over burdened by circumstances and wifely dysfunction, who need emotional support and practical solutions on how to handle a spouse’s brokenness when you are in a position of… Read more »
Men who sin = “total lunkheads who need to be shoved of the edge of the planet”
Women who sin = dysfunctional and broken”
Sounds like what we hear in almost every sermon/blog/Christian website/book/conference, etc. Until we get past this, we aren’t getting anywhere.
No, until you let the Lord deal with your perpetual envy and resentment towards women that just oozes from your very pores, you will continue to suffer.
Based on what? That I pointed our your ridiculous bias? The only thing I see hear is projection.
The only thing I see and hear is perpetual whining and protests of, but women sin too!
“The only thing I see and hear is ….”
What I see is that CHer caught you in the web of your own words and what I hear is your anger, arrogance and pride as a result.
You lack feminine reserve.
Repent.
No one is ever the least bit concerned about my alleged lack of “feminine reserve” unless they lack intestional fortitude themselves, in which case, stop whining and go get some of your own.
Like you’re sinning right now? Just repent and admit it. Is it that hard?
I am not sinning right now, nor will I repent when I speak the truth. You are invited to pluck the large log out of your own eye, or not. Makes no difference to me.
Comment on the Puritan article: Standing up to a rebellious wife can become a calamity in the age of easy-breezy divorce where men get pillaged by a court system that is radically>/em> stacked against them.
I wish we could edit these things.

I suggest that a clip taken from your sermon on Psalm 71, say about 15:00 – 19:45, would prove to be a MIGHTY blessing to everyone.
The application beginning around 18:00 is absolutely riveting!

THe last video in the post played for a few seconds and then stopped with this warning “video unavailable”. Strange.
