A New Work in Indianapolis

A new CREC church is starting up in Indianapolis, Indiana called Trinity Reformed Evangelical Church. The congregation has the strong support of Trinity Evangelical Church of Larwill, Indiana, though it is not officially a CREC church plant at this point. They would love to have more believers join them for weekly worship.

A New Daily Devotional, Morning and Evening

come-welcomeCanon Press has collected the homilies that I give each Lord’s Day into a book of devotions. Designed to be read throughout the calendar year, morning and evening, we have thoughtfully released this a week and a half into the new year. What this means is that you will start out behind, but it won’t be your fault. We try to think of everything. You can find out more on the product page here.

Word of the day: murmuration.

I just looked it up. Did you see the pictures of starling murmurations across the sky? Amazing.

I had heard of it, and thought it was onomatopoeic for the sound of bees.

… but it was merely euphonic.

Matthew 10:29-30
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.[a] 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Yes, and that verse is a great comfort. Until you see lovely, fluffy Maine coons killing the darling little sparrows simply for sport. Or you think of the special providence of God’s tempering the wind to the shorn lamb, and then reflect on what happens to it when it is fat enough to eat. All of which tells me two things: I’ve forgotten to take my Prozac lately, and this tone on this board in the last couple of days is depressing me!!

It’s only charitable to address my concerns, Pastor Wilson.

“Red Pill often muddies the water with highly-charged polemics on the proper way for men and women to relate to each other.Pickup-style artistry is often emphasized as the effective way to talk to and ultimately copulate with women. It’s called “game,” (from Business Insider “what is Red Pill?) I have to say this does not sound in the least like Pastor Wilson.

That video is so great. Reminds me of Dicken’s Little Dorrit’s Circumlocution office, only with someone, to quote The Incredibles, “Penetrating the beauracracy!”

Late to the party, but here’s my favorite starling shot. Waka, waka.
