Opening Night

So I don’t need to put up another graphic of that scary looking dude with the progressive chain saw, right? You all got the picture, right? Is the message getting through? That liberals hate liberalism?

So then, if you are within shouting distance of one of the select theaters around the country showing it, I would encourage you to go see The Free Speech Apocalypse tonight. Go by yourself, buy two tickets, and prop your feet on the seat in front of you. Or better yet, take a friend. That would be better — take a friend.

Also, today is the last day to pre-order the DVD and digital download. Every pre-order gets all the bonus content/special features. Those who order will also get a PDF of the fantastic study guide that Canon Press put together for the film.

So, there you go.

A link to the “select theaters” locations and showing times would be nice too.

Is there no way to order *just* the digital download for the same price, $20? Those of us not in the USA might think it’s not really worth paying another $20 to have some physical piece of plastic shipped to us when we have this wonderful thing called the Internet which can do it for free… :-)

To answer my own question: it seems like this can be done on http://thefreespeechapocalypse.vhx.tv/ .

“Liberals hate liberalism”? This sounds like a category error — there’s no “liberalism” as an ideology that’s ever existed independent of the power-seeking behaviour of the left. When the existing hierarchies. and rules of traditional society stood in the way of power, talk of “rights” and “freedom” were their means of combat. Now that they are largely cleared away, these concepts are no longer necessary to them. Focus on the matador, not the cape.

Actually liberalism was what fueled our revolution 250 years ago. It wasn’t invented in the 20th century.
Unfortunately over the course of generations it mutated and turned back on itself to devour. Liberalism freed us from tyranny, but eventually submits itself willingly back to that tyranny.

I recommend this book on the subject: http://www.amazon.com/Political-Visions-Illusions-Contemporary-Ideologies/dp/0830827269

You’re certainly correct about its origins: leftism in the Anglosphere won its first major victory in the English Civil War. I think it’s wildly inaccurate to say it has “freed us from tyranny” in any meaningful sense.

Summary. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Locke

Technically they call it “Classical liberalism” now, but only because modern liberalism has progressed back in the wrong direction.

“back”? The movement has been in the same direction the entire time. Locke was a left-wing anti-Christian sophist and responsible for a good portion of our current sociopolitical sorrows.

Well done! It was eye-opening, as well as disturbing (in the right kind of way). I’m grateful this kind of documentary is being made. It’s an excellent reminder that our commitments matter. Thank you.

You’d have better success contacting help through the site you downloaded from. :^)

Pastor Wilson, I just watched the film, and I have a very deep pressing question. What’s up with the Bourbon St. hat?
