An interesting collection of bits and pieces from the various folks in and around the Trump campaign, compiled into a timeline. A year later, and it is still quite astonishing how much of a shock Trump’s victory was to everyone who thought they knew everything.

Yep. Unlike Facebook, MeMe’s algorithm is stupid simple. However, it can only be beaten with a ban or by
(a) no one replying to her or acknowledging her. Or better yet…
(b) no one commenting at all, since she’ll still reply to other comments and pick fights
Why bash MeMe? People have different experiences and opinions. I appreciate hers though I oft disagree. I can’t think of a good reason to ban her. Now maybe if she were advocating banning others or completely ignoring them so that they would feel hated and leave…

Did I not tell ya’all last year that this is EXACTLY what compromising on Trump would bring? I don’t think you come even close yet to understanding the enormous damage this is doing and will continue to do to the Christian witness in America and abroad. This is a dark, dark time, and I feel sick to my stomach.
Take heart, Jonathan. There’s something good about dragging all the dirty laundry out into the sunlight and giving it a good airing. The Christian witness in America and abroad has been far more damaged by decades of toxic secrets and hypocrisy than by people speaking the truth.
Sometimes I think the only ones unaware of the conservative Christian propensity for sexual perversion and hypocrisy…. are conservative Christians.
You wouldn’t believe the amount of junk Christianity (or churchianity) that is spread around the world from the United States. Heavy shepherding, seeker-sensitivity, health and wealth, love yourself, MacArthurville … You have an evangelical establishment with an appalling track record of actually dealing with sexual and other abuse, and a suvivor blog community who are its mirror image – mostly embittered women who make genuine exposure of wrong-doing harder because it appears accusations of abuse only come from professional whiners. The stable that organised the Strange Fire conference, including the Pyromaniacs or Fred Butler. Sadly Pyro descended into little more than an obsession with correct doctrine and exposing the errors of others, and bullying of dissenting opinions when Johnson’s sidekicks took over. I have no problem with correct doctrine, far from it, but the obsession with being right. I’m not sure that we have the same definition of “junk Christianity”, but I am very well aware of the enormous degree to which American churches have influenced overseas Christianity. The four trends that I see as by far the most common, and the most damaging, are prosperity gospel, the pushing of recent distortions in endtimes theology, an incorporation of American political arguments, and overreliance on infrastructure/technology/things you have to spend money on.
I don’t know of a “conservative Christian propensity for sexual perversion and hypocrisy”, we seem to be about as vulnerable to it as nearly everyone else. I do see a profound tendency to pretend that it’s only “our enemies” who have the problem though. And I’m not worried by people speaking the truth. If this was all about people speaking the truth about Moore (a positive continuation of the trend that started with Weinstein, then went to Spacey and started getting all the others), that would have been great. Roy Moore is no one’s idea of “inner ring.”
Now then, what ever happened to the presumption of innocence?

The response of some evangelical Christians toward Trump goes beyond merely compromising, there seems to be plenty of outright enthusiasm, and yes that is damaging to Christian credibility. However, if you are talking about Roy Moore (or anyone else,) mightn’t you wait for an impartial investigation and a fair trial before you declare him a sexual molester of teenagers?
