Most Scholars’ Review

“In fact, so many appeals are made to ‘most scholars’ that the young student may be tempted to try to find articles at the library listed under Most Scholars’ Review. Even those Christian colleges that have managed to retain some doctrinal integrity with regard to their Christian commitments have capitulated to the spirit of academic ‘neutrality.’ The only place where Christianity is still practically confessed is by (perhaps) the chaplain and a few theology profs who are scattered around a handful of spiritual reservations across campus. But in the classroom, where the business of the college is done — in economics, history, philosophy — confessional, applied Christianity is entirely absent. In short, most Christian colleges are arguably part of the secular, higher-education establishment” (The Paideia of God, p. 120).
