Fruitless Bloodlust of Sodom

When Herod issued the order for the boys in the vicinity of Bethlehem to be killed, he was not just being murderous personally. There was a corporate, covenantal statement being made as well, which was that Israel had become Egypt, and the tetrarch over the Jews had become a Pharaoh. Pharaoh had murdered the children of the Jews, and when Herod joined him to do the same, he revealed his true covenantal identity. The mask was off, and it did not matter how many Fourth of July events he showed up for, how much red, white and blue bunting was on the stage, and how fine his speeches were.

Every day, one 911 daily, every day for the last thirty-five years. Since I was nineteen-years-old, America has been turning into Egypt; America has embraced the fruitless bloodlust of Sodom.
